People of the Forest - Orangutan
Meets South Carolina Physical Education Standards 1
Rainforests include many fascinating animals, including orangutans. Join us as we discover some
of the animals who share their world. Then, take a walk to meet the Greenville Zoo’s very own orangs,
Mia, Chelsea and baby Bob.(Sorry, we are unable to do this as a Zoomobile program.)

Explore how animals get around. Children meet animals that walk, hop, crawl and fly. They will even try some moves themselves. (Because of activities done during class, there is a 25 student maximum.)

About Animals

This class gets down to the animal basics: their needs, senses and characteristics. We will also cover what makes an animal an appropriate (or inappropriate) pet.

How do snakes hear without ears? Why do rabbits have eyes on the side of their head? Students
investigate puzzling questions like these through hands-on activities.
Green Kingdom

Do you think all plants are alike? Plants are all around us. We see them everyday. Join us as we
build a plant and discuss how plants are helpful to both animals and people.
